Hyundai is recalling certain 2007-2008 Veracruz and Santa Fe vehicles because the driver's air bag clock spring contact assembly may develop high resistance over time. If this occurs and the vehicle is in a crash, the driver's air bag will not deploy, increasing the risk of driver injury.
Hyundai dealers will replace the driver's air bag clock spring contact assembly at no charge. The recall began in November 2011. Owners of affected vehicles should contact the Hyundai Customer Connect Center at 1-800-633-5151 to arrange the replacement.
