2011 HONDA CR-Z
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Honda is recalling certain 2011 CR-Z passenger cars with manual transmissions that were manufactured between January 8, 2010, and June 27, 2011. The recalled vehicles have a software issue in the Engine Control Unit (ECU) that could cause unexpected vehicle movement. Specifically, if the engine stalls while the brake pedal is not being pressed, the hybrid system's electric motor may move the vehicle in the opposite direction of the selected gear, potentially increasing the risk of a crash or injury to people in the vehicle's path.
Honda dealers will update the ECU software at no charge to fix this issue. The safety recall began on September 26, 2011. Affected owners should contact Honda Automobile Customer Service at 1-800-999-1009 to arrange for the software update.
