2011 FREIGHTLINER BUSINESS CLASS M2 106V
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain 2011 Business Class M2 106V incomplete chassis cab vehicles manufactured between July 19, 2010, and January 14, 2011. Some of these vehicles have headlights installed at heights exceeding 54 inches from the road surface, which violates federal safety standards. Headlights at improper heights may fail to fully illuminate road surfaces or make it harder for other motorists to see the vehicles, increasing crash risk.
The remedy is available through authorized dealers, who will inspect the headlamp height at no charge and replace any nonconforming headlights with new ones that lower the bulb center to meet safety standards. Owners who received notification letters can contact Daimler Trucks at 1-800-547-0712 to schedule the inspection and repair.

HEADLIGHTS INSTALLED AT HEIGHTS OUTSIDE OF THE PARAMETERS SET BY THE SAFETY STANDARD MAY NOT FULLY ILLUMINATE ROAD SURFACES OR MAY INHIBIT THE ABILITY OF MOTORISTS TO SEE VEHICLES INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE HEADLAMP HEIGHT AND REPLACE ANY NONCONFORMING HEADLIGHTS WITH NEW HEADLIGHTS THAT LOWER THE BULB CENTER SUCH THAT THE HEADLIGHTS MEET THE SAFETY STANDARD FREE OF CHARGE. AN INTERIM LETTER WAS SENT TO OWNERS ON JUNE 1, 2011. THE NOTIFICATION LETTER TO NOTIFY OWNERS THAT THE REMEDY IS NOW AVAILABLE WAS MAILED ON OCTOBER 10, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DAIMLER TRUCKS AT 1-800-547-0712.
