2006 SUMMIT AD40
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Summit Trailer Sales is recalling certain 2006 AD-40 model year vehicles manufactured between September 1, 2006, and September 15, 2006, that are equipped with ArvinMeritor axles. The problem involves insufficient torque applied to the spindle nut on ArvinMeritor TL Series trailer axles, where the stake washer for the nut was staked in only a single location instead of multiple locations. This low or missing torque can cause excessive end-play in the wheel-end system, which could lead to wheel separation and result in a crash.
ArvinMeritor is working with vehicle manufacturers to identify and repair affected vehicles free of charge. The safety recall began on March 1, 2011. Owners of affected vehicles should contact ArvinMeritor at 1-248-273-4641 for information about repairs.
