2009 BLUE BIRD SCHOOL BUS

Truck Services is recalling certain 2009 school buses built on Blue Bird chassis that are equipped with Carrier GENV EM-1 air conditioning evaporator units. The recalled units contain a Delphi Pack-Con III fuse holder in an Allied Motion motor assembly that may have a loosened fuse due to time, temperature, and/or vibration. If sufficient arcing occurs in the fuse holder, it may melt and potentially cause flame, smoke, and fire.
Owners of affected buses should contact Carrier at 1-800-793-4741 or Truck Services at 1-317-248-5606 to receive instructions on obtaining a free remedy. The recall began February 10, 2011.

TRUCK SERVICES WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND INSTRUCT THEM TO CONTACT EITHER CARRIER OR A TRUCK SERVICES DEALER TO OBTAIN THE FREE REMEDY. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN FEBRUARY 10, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CARRIER AT 1-800-793-4741 OR TRUCK SERVICES AT 1-317-248-5606.
TRUCK SERVICES IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 SCHOOL BUSES BUILT ON BLUE BIRD CHASSIS FROM JANUARY 2009 THROUGH DECEMBER 2009 AND EQUIPPED WITH CARRIER GENV EM-1 EVAPORATOR UNITS (EM-1) MANUFACTURED FROM JANUARY 1, 2006 THROUGH DECEMBER 2010, CONTAINING A DELPHI PACK-CON III FUSE HOLDER IN AN ALLIED MOTION MOTOR ASSEMBLY; EM-1 UNIT PART NUMBERS 77-62112-XX AND 77-62512-XX, STARTING WITH SERIAL NUMBER KNT90890232 TO SERIAL NUMBER NNE91230058. DUE TO TIME, TEMPERATURE, AND/OR VIBRATION, THE FUSE MAY LOOSEN IN THE FUSE HOLDER RESULTING IN HIGH RESISTANCE AND ARCING.
