C. E. WHITE SEAT CUSHION
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
C. E. White Company is recalling certain self-latching seat cushions manufactured between April 14, 2010, and June 7, 2011, that were installed as original equipment in various school buses. The self-latching mechanism that holds the seat cushion to the frame may fail to activate properly, which means the cushion could flip up out of place during a vehicle crash. This defect violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 222 for school bus passenger seating and crash protection.
If the seat cushion shifts out of position, it could injure vehicle occupants in a crash or block emergency exits from the bus. According to the recall notice, affected owners should contact C. E. White at 1-419-492-5324 or their vehicle manufacturer. C. E. White is working with bus manufacturers to notify owners and will repair the affected buses at no charge.
