What happened

Pierce Manufacturing is recalling certain 2009 through 2010 Arrow XT, Quantum, and Velocity emergency vehicles manufactured between August 11, 2009, and May 20, 2010. The rear brake slack adjusters on these vehicles may interfere with the automatic tire chain brackets when the slack adjusters reach near full stroke, potentially compromising brake capability and causing a crash without warning.

To address this issue, dealers will install a new automatic tire chain bracket at no charge. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Pierce Manufacturing at 1-920-832-3000 to arrange for the repair.
