Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Motor Coach Industries is recalling certain model year 2000-2009 D4000, 2001-2010 D4500, and 2005-2007 D4505 coaches that are equipped with a Ricon wheelchair lift and cassette-type compartment door. The wheelchair lift may become disengaged from its locked position and slide unrestrained on its rollers, potentially breaking through the compartment door and extending outside the coach body, particularly during left turns. If this occurs while the coach is in motion, it could injure people or damage other vehicles or property.
MCI will provide a retrofit kit that includes a spring-loaded lock mechanism and will install it free of charge, including all parts and labor. The recall began on March 31, 2010. Affected owners should contact MCI Customer Service at 1-800-241-2947.
