2006 HONDA RIDGELINE; 2007 HONDA RIDGELINE
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Honda is recalling certain 2006 and 2007 Ridgeline vehicles manufactured between January 17, 2005, and June 7, 2006. These vehicles have a wiring harness connector for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning blower motor located under the passenger side of the instrument panel that may be accessible to kicking by the front seat passenger's feet. If kicked, the connector terminal may overheat, causing the wire insulation to melt or the wiring connector itself to melt, which could result in a short circuit and fire.
Dealers will inspect the affected vehicles free of charge. If the wiring connector is damaged, it will be replaced, and all vehicles will have a protective cover installed. The recall began on March 15, 2010. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009.
