Is my product affected?

CYBEX SOLUTION X-FIX

  • Brand CYBEX

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Certain Cybex Solution X-Fix model booster seats manufactured in February 2010 contain an incorrect warning label regarding how to secure an unoccupied booster seat. The defect involves a warning statement on the headrest label and in the owner's manual that conflicts with proper safety practices. If caregivers follow the incorrect warning, the unoccupied booster seat may not be properly secured, creating a risk that it could be thrown around during sharp turns, crashes, or sudden stops and strike vehicle occupants, potentially causing injury.

Regal Lager is notifying affected caregivers and providing a replacement label to be placed over the old label, along with a new owner's manual at no charge. The recall began on August 6, 2010. Owners of affected booster seats should contact Regal Lager toll-free at 1-800-593-5522 between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM EST to receive the corrective materials.

Details from the source

CERTAIN CYBEX SOLUTION X-FIX MODEL BOOSTER SEATS MANUFACTURED DURING FEBRUARY 2010, WERE PRODUCED USING AN INCORRECT WARNING LABEL. THE DEFECT CONSISTS OF AN INCORRECT WARNING STATEMENT RELATED TO SECURING AN UNOCCUPIED BOOSTER SEAT. THIS STATEMENT IS INCONSISTENT WITH CYBEX RECOMMENDED PRACTICES - ALWAYS SECURE AN UNOCCUPIED BOOSTER WITH THE VEHICLE SEAT BELT. IF A CAREGIVER FOLLOWS THE WARNING AS WRITTEN, THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK THAT THE UNOCCUPIED BOOSTER SEAT COULD STRIKE A VEHICLE OCCUPANT AND CAUSE INJURY IN A SEVERE CRASH. THE INCORRECT WARNING STATEMENT APPEARS IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL AND ON THE HEADREST WARNING LABEL.
