Koopman International toy boxes in three models (Pirate, Blue, and Princess) have been recalled because children could potentially hide inside the boxes and have difficulty opening the lids due to tight sealing. The boxes do not meet safety standards required by the Toy Safety Directive and European standard EN 71-1. The affected toy boxes have internal volumes of 57 liters and include air vents in the base.
The marketing and sale of these toy boxes has been banned as of July 9, 2013. The record does not specify what remedy is available to consumers who have already purchased the product.
