Tolo brand rattle toys, sold individually as the "Twist & Turn Rattle" (model TL0001) and also through Marks and Spencer (models T79/5970 and T79/02784/5970 X64U), are subject to recall. These 13-centimeter rattles designed for infants above 3 months old consist of six connected rotating sections containing small balls. The connecting sections can break and release the small balls inside, which poses a choking hazard if a small child puts them in their mouth. The product does not meet the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-1.
The recall was issued by the United Kingdom and entered into force on July 16, 2015. Affected consumers should contact their retailer or the manufacturer to return or remove the product from use.
