Black Diamond is recalling certain Camalot and Camalot Ultralight spring-loaded camming devices used for rock climbing. The affected products have defective axles that may not be properly riveted, which could cause the camming device to lose resilience or fall apart during use. This defect could result in a climber falling from height and suffering serious or fatal injuries. The recalled Camalots were manufactured between May 18, 2015 and March 9, 2016 with production codes between 5133 and 6067, and Camalot Ultralights were manufactured between November 10, 2015 and March 4, 2016 with production codes between 5309 and 6061.
According to the recall notice, affected consumers should return the product to the manufacturer. The recall entered into force on April 13, 2016.

This could result in the camming device not being fully resilient or falling apart when used.
