The transparent plastic material contains 850 mg/kg of cadmium, and the green plastic material contains 640 mg/kg of cadmium, both far exceeding the legal limit of 100 mg/kg. Cadmium is a heavy metal that accumulates in the human body and is known to cause cancer and genetic mutations. Consumers can be exposed to cadmium when installing or removing these wall stickers, creating both health and environmental risks.
The affected products include decorative wall stickers made of plastic featuring black tree designs, with model numbers JM8047 and JM7087, sized 50 x 70 cm. The stickers were rejected at the border and were not permitted to be imported as of April 26, 2013.
