Passenger car
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Ford is recalling certain S-MAX, Galaxy, and Mondeo passenger cars equipped with 1.6L EcoBoost engines due to a defect in engine coolant levels. The engines may not contain sufficient coolant, which can cause localized overheating of the cylinder head. This overheating may crack the cylinder head and create a pressurized oil leak that could result in a fire in the engine compartment. The affected vehicles do not comply with motor vehicle approval and market surveillance regulations.
The recall affects multiple model variants identified by their approval numbers across the three vehicle names listed above. Ford, as the manufacturer, is responsible for executing this recall. The record does not specify what remedy or corrective action affected consumers should take beyond that a recall has been initiated.
