What happened

Rubber squeeze toys that light up when squeezed are being recalled due to a choking hazard. The toys, which come in various shapes including frogs, monsters, chicks, crocodiles, jellyfish, baby rabbits, and ladybirds, have small parts that can be easily detached and swallowed by small children. The affected products do not meet safety requirements under the Toy Safety Directive and European standard EN 71-1. The recalled models include reference numbers EJT-318, EJT-110, EJT-518, EJT-617, EJT-512, EJT-118, EJT-109, EJT-112, and EJT-411, sold under names such as Frog and Baby Bushy Spider.

The products were supplied in display boxes containing 12 or 24 toys and were reported by Spain. The recall measure was implemented as of December 19, 2013, with imports of these products rejected at the border.
