Pipe insulation
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
BetaPlus thermal foam pipe insulation used for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems has been recalled due to fire safety concerns. The product is a phenolic foam insulation coated with chemically-treated aluminum foil, supplied in various diameters from 15mm to 300mm and packaged in cardboard boxes. When not installed correctly, the insulation has fire reaction properties rated D or worse, rather than the claimed class B rating, meaning it does not adequately slow the spread of fire.
The hazard is particularly serious in commercial buildings where the insulation is applied to exposed HVAC piping in emergency escape stairways, as the product's poor fire performance could prevent occupants from safely evacuating during a fire. The manufacturer initiated corrective measures effective September 1, 2015. The recall was notified by the United Kingdom. The source record does not specify what action affected consumers should take.

null Persons in commercial building where product is used are not able to escape from the building because the reaction to fire properties of the product is D or worse (if not fitted correctly) when claimed to be class B. Thus the product does not slow down the spread of fire in the building, particularly in any open emergency escape stairways with exposed HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) piping.
