Guardson ApS is recalling its Guardian Hand & Skin hand disinfectant products because they contain Polyhexanide (PHMB) at a concentration of 0.8%, a chemical not authorized for use in human hygiene products. PHMB can cause organ damage through prolonged or repeated contact, serious eye damage, and is harmful if swallowed. The product does not meet the requirements of the Biocidal Products Regulation.
The recalled products are sold in multiple sizes (10.5 ml, 25 ml, 50 ml, and 250 ml) in various forms including sprays, foamers, bottles, and wet wipes. Affected model numbers include 203250, 203500, 204050, 204250, 205020, 205025, 205100, 205105, and 376020. The recall took effect on October 16, 2020.
