Polycom is recalling battery packs sold with SoundStation2W wireless conference phones and as replacement batteries between December 1, 2007 and May 2, 2008 worldwide. The lithium ion battery packs can overheat, posing a risk of fire and burns. One incident has been reported. The recalled battery packs have specific part numbers (1520-07803-003, 1520-07804-003, 2201-67800-022, 2201-67800-101) and SKU numbers (2200-07800-009, 015, 030, 102, 107, 119, 120, 122) with date codes GP1207, GP0108, GP0208, or GP0308 printed on a white label in the lower left corner. The battery packs have black or white plastic coating and are labeled "RECHARGEABLE Li-ion BATTERY."
Consumers with affected battery packs are advised to participate in the voluntary recall. The recall notice does not specify what remedy or replacement action consumers should take.

The recalled battery packs were sold with both the 12-hour talk time/non-expandable and 24-hour talk time/expandable SoundStation2W models. The SoundStation2W wireless conference phones with recalled battery packs were shipped to customers between 1 December 2007 and 2 May 2008 and separately as replacement battery packs during the same time period in all worldwide regions. The recalled battery pack part numbers and date codes are as follows: part numbers: 1520-07803-003, 1520-07804-003, 2201-67800-022; 2201-67800-101; SKU numbers 2200-07800-009,015,030,102,107,119,120,122; date codes: GP1207, GP0108, GP0208, or GP0308 (December 2007 through to March 2008). " The battery packs have a black or white plastic coating and a white label with the following title: “RECHARGEABLE Li-ion BATTERY.” The date code is located in the lower left-hand corner of the battery pack label and the part number is in the upper right of the label.
