SaKOTA brand wax crayons (model CFA 0944, EAN 5997875709440) packaged in cardboard boxes containing twelve varicolored crayons are being recalled because the yellow crayon contains unsafe levels of lead and chromium. The yellow crayon contains 1556.1 mg/kg of lead and 93.8 mg/kg of chromium, exceeding the legal limits of 90 mg/kg for lead and 60 mg/kg for chromium established by the Toys Directive and European standard EN 71.

This product poses a risk to children because yellow crayon contains 1556,1 mg/kg of plumbum (Pb) and 93,8 mg/kg of chrome (Cr), which exceeds the limit values of 90mg/kg for Pb and 60mg/kg for Cr. This product does not comply with the Toys Directive and the European standard for toys EN 71.

Twelve varicoloured wax crayons are packed in a cardboard box with an opening for suspension at the top. Their size is 10x11,5x0,9 cm. At the front side there are a picture of a bee, a name of a product in four languages – Slovak, Czech, Hungarian and Polish, type and logo SaKOTA®. On the back, there are logo SaKOTA®, distributors for the Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, origin, notice “It does not contain toxic substances”, pictogram of age group, CE mark, www.sakota.com, EAN and trade name: "North&South Inc., U.S.A".
