What happened

Genesis electric bicycles with model numbers 9020100016511, 9020102137368, 9020104319618, 9020104320539, 9020104321338, and 9020159992 are subject to recall due to a fire hazard in their batteries. The batteries (measuring 290mm by 75mm by 120mm, with 11Ah or 13.2Ah capacity) can catch fire when recharged if the battery voltage has dropped below a certain level, such as when the bicycle has not been charged over winter months. Two incidents have been reported, and the product does not comply with the Machinery Directive.
