Decorative articles - strawberry and apple
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Sia Home Fashion has recalled decorative strawberry and apple articles due to choking hazards. The strawberry's leaves can be pulled off and swallowed, and pieces can be bitten off the apple, with both items able to detach with minimal force. Because these products closely resemble real fruit in appearance, color, and size, children and visually-impaired persons may mistake them for edible food and attempt to eat them, risking choking, asphyxia, or digestive tract obstruction. The recalled strawberry (model 3 533591 692400) is a soft, air-filled red plastic decoration with synthetic leaves measuring approximately 64 x 42 mm, and the recalled apple (model 3 533591 660645) is a hard plastic red decoration with a stalk and golden hanging thread measuring approximately 56 x 60 mm.
The importer has voluntarily stopped sales of the products. The recall record does not specify what affected consumers should do with products they already own.

The product poses a risk of choking because of small parts (the leaves on the strawberry can be pulled off and swallowed, and pieces of the apple can be bitten off and swallowed). These parts can be detached with forces of less than 37 N and they fit into the small parts cylinder. Due to the characteristic form, appearance, colour and size, the products may be mistaken for a foodstuff (strawberry or apple). This may lead children or visually-disabled persons to take a bite and swallow it. This can entail the risk of asphyxia or obstruction of the digestive tract. The product does not comply with the Directive 87/357/EEC on products which, appearing to be other than they are, endanger the health or safety of consumers.
