KAEMING is recalling decorative candles shaped like small raspberry tarts (approximately 42mm diameter and 3cm height) because they resemble food and pose a choking hazard to children. The candles could be mistaken for an edible dessert, creating a risk that children might put them in their mouths and swallow them, potentially causing asphyxia or digestive tract obstruction. The product does not comply with EU Directive 87/357/EEC regarding food-imitating products.
The candles were sold in packs of six in transparent boxes with a gold-colored base and a lady figure on the side, with a warning label on the bottom stating "warning! this is not for consumption!! please keep away from children and animals." Individual candles could also be purchased separately. The affected product has model code 202202 and barcode 8717427351920. The distributor is voluntarily withdrawing the product from the market.
