What happened

Electrolux, AEG-Electrolux, and Zanussi-Electrolux dishwashers manufactured between week 24 of 2006 and week 23 of 2007 are being recalled due to a faulty component that can overheat or catch fire. The affected models include Electrolux ESF 45010 and ESF 65020, as well as several AEG FAV models (44860, 64480 I-W, 64480 I-D, 64480 I-M, and 64480 I-A). The problem typically appears 3 to 11 months after the dishwasher is installed. The model number and serial number can be found on the side of the dishwasher door or in the user manual.

Freestanding, built-under or built-in models. Dishwashers using two electronic families (identified as models EDW 1100 and EDW 1500) produced during the period from week 24 2006 until week 23 2007 have been assembled using a defective component. The problem manifests itself some 3 to 11 months from installation. The model (Mod), Product Number Code (PNC) and Serial Number (S.N.) of the dishwasher are printed on the side of the dishwasher door.
