What happened

IKEA has recalled its RUND handmade double-walled clear glass mugs due to a risk of cuts to the lips, mouth, or hands. The mugs can break easily because of variations in the thickness of the glass walls. The recall affects three sizes: the 4 cl mug (article #30155137), the 21 cl mug (#30149679), and the 40 cl mug (#50149678). These mugs were sold at IKEA stores beginning in October 2009, and twelve incidents have been reported worldwide, with five resulting in injury.

The mugs can be identified by markings on their packaging, which include an 8-digit article number, a 5-digit supplier number (#16790), and a 4-digit date stamp. However, the mugs themselves have no identifying marks. The source document does not specify what remedy is available to consumers who have purchased this product.
