What happened

Best Buy is recalling Insignia brand air fryers and air fryer ovens because they can overheat, creating fire and burn hazards. The recall includes Digital Air Fryers, Analog Air Fryers, and Digital Air Fryer Ovens in eight specific model numbers: NS-AF32DBK9, NS-AF32MBK9, NS-AF50MBK9, NS-AF53DSS0, NS-AF53MSS0, NS-AF55DBK9, NS-AFO6DBK1, and NS-AFO6DSS1. These products have cooking capacities between approximately 3.4 and 10 quarts and come in black or stainless-steel finishes with plastic or plastic and stainless-steel bodies.

Affected consumers should immediately stop using the recalled air fryers and return them to Best Buy for a refund as store credit. Best Buy is contacting known purchasers directly to arrange returns and will provide pre-paid shipping boxes, labels, and return instructions. Consumers will receive a credit of $50 or the amount shown on their purchase receipt, whichever is higher, and a purchase receipt is not required to receive the $50 credit.
