Specialized Bicycle Components has expanded its recall of Sirrus bicycles due to a defect where the crank arm can disengage from the bicycle, causing riders to lose control and potentially fall and suffer injuries. The expanded recall now includes 2021 and 2022 model year Sirrus X 3.0 and 4.0 bicycles, in addition to the previously recalled 2019 and 2020 model year Sirrus, Sirrus X, and Sirrus Sport bicycles in various colors. Consumers can identify recalled models by checking for "Sirrus" or "Sirrus X" printed on the top tube and the model number on the seatstay.
Consumers who own a recalled bicycle should stop using it immediately and contact their nearest authorized Specialized retailer for a free repair. Specialized Bicycle Components is contacting all known purchasers directly regarding this recall.
