Eguana Technologies is recalling Evolve Home Energy Storage Systems that contain lithium-ion battery modules manufactured by LG. These systems, which store energy from solar panels, can experience overheating in their battery modules, creating a fire hazard. The recalled units are freestanding cabinets approximately three feet high and four feet long with an Eguana logo on the left door. The systems contain between two and six removable battery modules, and affected units have serial numbers ranging from ET-000200 to ET-000600, which can be found inside the cabinet toward the bottom left.
Consumers who own a recalled Evolve system should immediately contact Eguana Technologies to schedule a free repair. For systems connected online, the battery state of charge will be remotely limited to reduce overheating risk until replacement. For systems not connected online, consumers should contact Eguana Technologies to arrange a free technician visit to manually reduce the state of charge. Eguana Technologies will replace all recalled batteries at no cost and handle proper disposal according to federal and state regulations. Eguana Technologies will arrange for all recalled lithium-ion batteries to be properly replaced and disposed of according to federal and state regulations, and is contacting all known owners directly or through its installers.
