Elektron Music Machines is recalling the Power Handle BP-1, a portable power source for music synthesizers and effects devices. The metal and plastic handles, measuring approximately 11 inches wide by 3 inches deep by 1 inch high, can short circuit and overheat, creating fire and burn hazards. Affected units have serial numbers beginning with 4250A on the inside edge of the battery compartment and carry UPC code 7350049242057. The products were manufactured in Sweden and sold with a connection cable and screw.
Consumers who own a recalled power handle should immediately stop using it, disconnect the power cable, and remove the batteries. They should then contact Elektron for instructions on obtaining a full refund, including shipping costs. Elektron will provide a prepaid shipping label to each consumer who reports the product after contacting the firm.
