What happened

Magnussen Home is recalling Nova Series 5-Drawer Chests, Model B1428-10, manufactured between August 2009 and August 2015. The chests are unstable if not anchored to the wall, creating tip-over and entrapment hazards that can cause death or serious injury to children. The recalled chests do not meet the performance requirements of the industry standard ASTM F2057-19. The chest is brown, measures 54 inches tall by 40 inches wide by 18 inches deep, and is made of wood with a walnut veneer. The manufacture date appears on a label in the top left-hand corner of the back of the unit in MMYY format, with recalled units showing date codes between AG09 and AG15.

Consumers who own a recalled chest should immediately stop using it and contact Magnussen Home for a refund. The refund amount will be pro-rated based on the age of the chest.
