John Deere Recalls Compact Utility Tractors Due to Risk of Injury (Recall Alert)

What happened

John Deere is recalling certain compact utility tractors because rear wheel spacer bolts may have been improperly torqued during manufacturing. This defect can cause a wheel to fall off while the tractor is operating, which could result in the tractor overturning and injuring the operator.

The recall affects John Deere compact utility tractors with model numbers 4044M, 4044R, 4052M, 4052R, 4066M, or 4066R. These tractors are green and yellow in color and are available in both open operator station and cab configurations. Serial numbers begin with "1LV" and are located on the frame on the front right side of the machine near the engine. A complete list of affected serial numbers is available at www.JohnDeere.com/WheelSpacerBoltRecall.

Affected consumers should immediately stop using the recalled tractors and contact an authorized John Deere dealer for a free inspection and repair of the wheel mounting bolts. John Deere is contacting all known purchasers directly.

Hazard
