What happened

Ring is recalling the Video Doorbell (2nd Generation), model number 5UM5E5, due to a fire hazard. The doorbell's battery can overheat when incorrect screws are used during installation, which poses fire and burn risks. These devices feature a blue ring at the front and are available in satin nickel (black and silver) or venetian bronze (black and bronze). They were sold with a mounting bracket and USB charging cable and can operate either hardwired or battery-powered with two-way audio and night vision capabilities.

Only certain Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) models with specific serial numbers are affected by this recall.
