Antifreeze products
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Prestone Products is recalling fourteen different models of antifreeze sold under six brand names: Prestone®, AutoZone®, Highline®/Prime Guard®, Supertech®, Prime®, and Starfire®. The one-gallon bottles come in black, gray, orange, white, or yellow and contain ethylene glycol. The caps on these products were not rotated enough during manufacturing to properly engage the child resistant safety mechanism, which violates the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. This defect creates a risk of poisoning if children swallow the antifreeze contents.
According to the recall notice, affected consumers should immediately inspect their antifreeze product and twist the cap to ensure the child resistant mechanism is engaged. Consumers can determine if their product is included in the recall by checking the brand name on the front of the bottle and the model number and date code on the back informational panel against the specific list provided by the manufacturer.
