Cycling Sports Group is recalling Cannondale CAADX Cyclocross bicycles from model years 2013 through 2016 that are equipped with disc brakes. The bicycles' forks can break, creating a fall hazard that risks serious injury and death. One fatality has been reported. The affected bicycles have a prominent CAADX marking on the top tube or elsewhere, disc brakes, a large "ULTRAX" marking inside the fork leg, and an external cable running to the front disc brake.
Consumers who own a recalled bicycle should immediately stop using it and take it to the nearest authorized Cannondale dealer for a free repair. The dealer will replace the fork with a full carbon fiber replacement fork at no cost. Consumers unsure whether their bicycle is affected should bring it to an authorized Cannondale dealer for assistance.
