American Apparel brand Baby Rib Collection children's sleep sacks have been recalled by Gildan Activewear because they fail to meet federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear, creating a burn injury risk. The recalled sleep sacks were sold exclusively at AmericanApparel.com in size 6-12 months and are made of either 100% cotton or a 90% cotton and 10% polyester blend. The affected products come in black, green, gray, light blue, navy, pink, red, and white, with "American Apparel" and "Baby Rib Collection" printed on the neck label and "Made in Honduras" indicated on another neck label.
According to the recall notice, consumers who own these sleep sacks should immediately remove them from children and stop using them.
