Is my product affected?

  • Brand Delta Electronics USA Inc., of Plano, Texas

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Delta Electronics is recalling Eltek THEIA HE-t string inverters, which convert power from residential solar panels to electrical grid power. The recalled inverters, measuring approximately 28 inches high by 14 inches wide by 6.5 inches deep, were sold in four kilowatt ratings: 2.0 kW, 2.9 kW, 3.8 kW, and 4.4 kW. These models can be identified by "Eltek," "THEIA," and "HE-t" printed on the front display panel. The inverters were installed in various locations throughout consumers' homes.

The capacitors in these inverters can fail, causing heat to build up inside the unit. This failure can cause the cover to eject forcefully from the inverter, creating fire and impact hazards. According to the recall, affected consumers should immediately stop using the recalled inverters, turn off the switch on the inverter's front cover, switch off the circuit breaker for the inverter, and contact Delta Electronics USA to arrange for a free replacement inverter. Delta Electronics will remove the recalled unit and install the replacement at no cost.
