What happened

Marker has recalled 2017-2018 Kingpin ski bindings (models 10 and 13) with black bodies and gold or copper accents due to a defect in the toe unit. The steel pins in the toe unit can break, which reduces the release force of the binding and creates a fall hazard. The affected bindings have specific serial number ranges on the heel unit: Kingpin 10 bindings (337804-418632) and Kingpin 13 bindings (337798-411728).

According to the recall, consumers who own these bindings should immediately stop using them and return them to a Marker authorized retailer for a free replacement toe unit. Consumers are advised to bring their boots to ensure their bindings are adjusted correctly after the replacement.
