Werner has recalled five models of aluminum telescoping ladders that can break during use, creating a fall hazard. The affected models are the MT-IAA-13A (13 feet), MT-IAA-17A (17 feet), MT-IAA-22A (22 feet), MT-IAA-26 (26 feet), and MT-IAA-26A (26 feet), all with a 375-pound load capacity. These ladders can be used in five different positions: as a twin step ladder, stairway step ladder, extension ladder, wall ladder, or as two scaffold bases. You can identify a recalled ladder by checking the model number on the label located on the ladder rail and the date code stamped on the inside of the outer leg beneath the bottom step. The MT-IAA-13A models have date codes of 121744XX or 011844XX.
According to the recall notice, affected consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ladders and return the ladder to the store where it was purchased to receive a full refund.
