Jané Recalls Strollers Due to Violation of the Federal Stroller and Carriage Safety Standard; Entrapment and Strangulation Hazards

Is my product affected?

Jané Muum strollers

  • Brand Jané USA LLC, a division of Jané Group, of Charlotte, N.C.

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Jané is recalling US model Muum strollers because they violate federal safety standards. An infant can slip through the opening between the armrest and seat bottom, allowing their head and neck to become trapped by the armrest, which creates entrapment and strangulation hazards. The recalled strollers have a black frame with a reversible reclining seat or hammock, hood, and storage basket, and were sold in four color combinations: dark gray and black, light grey and black, blue and black, and green and black. The stroller model name appears on the frame and handle.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled strollers and contact Jané for a free replacement armrest. As an alternative, consumers can continue using the stroller if they remove the armrest and properly harness the child until they receive the replacement part.
