Specialized bicycles with Stout cranks
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Specialized is recalling Fuse Comp and Fatboy SE bicycles equipped with Stout cranks because the driveside crankarm can disengage during use, which can cause riders to lose control and fall. The recalled bicycles come in specific color combinations: Fuse Comp models in Gloss Hyper/Black Clean or Satin Gloss Black/Rocket Red, and Fatboy SE models in Gloss Warm Charcoal/Black/Gallardo Orange or Satin Oak Green/Black/Rocket Red. Only cranks manufactured in 2017 that have "STOUT" printed on either crankarm and use a direct-mount chainring are affected, which can be identified by a serial code starting with "17" on the inside of the crankarm.
Consumers who own affected bicycles should stop using them immediately and contact an Authorized Specialized Retailer for instructions on how to obtain a free replacement crankarm.
