What happened

BRP is recalling all 2017 Can-Am Outlander and Outlander Max all-terrain vehicles equipped with dynamic power steering (DPS) and either a 450 or 570 engine. The dynamic power steering shaft in these vehicles can break, which causes a loss of steering control and creates a crash hazard for riders. The recalled vehicles were sold in multiple colors including yellow, green, camouflage, red, white, black, and pure magnesium.

Consumers who own one of the affected vehicles should immediately stop using the vehicle and contact a BRP Can-Am ATV dealer for a free repair. BRP is contacting all known purchasers directly. Consumers can identify their vehicle model name on the side panels and locate the vehicle identification number (VIN) on the frame under the seat in the middle or on the frame behind the right front wheel.
