Rocky Mountain Bicycles is recalling all 2018 model year Altitude, Instinct, and Pipeline mountain bicycles made from carbon fiber or aluminum in various colors. The bicycles have a manufacturing defect where the brake cable housing was not secured properly, which can cause brake failure and create a crash hazard to the rider. You can identify a recalled bicycle by the model name printed on a sticker on the top tube, "Rocky Mountain" printed on the down tube, the Rocky Mountain logo on the headbadge at the headtube, and the platform family name printed on the rear triangle at the seatstay.
If you own one of the recalled bicycles, you should stop using it immediately and contact an authorized Rocky Mountain dealer. The dealer will provide a free inspection and free repair to address the brake cable housing issue.
