What happened

Suunto has recalled its Wireless Tank Transmitter (Reference Nos. SS019098000 and SS005397000) and Wireless Tank POD (Reference No. SS020306000) because the exterior plastic case can burst during pre-dive pressure testing, which poses an injury hazard. Both products are black cone-shaped devices approximately 4 centimeters in diameter and 8 centimeters long. The Wireless Tank Transmitter has "SUUNTO, FINLAND" printed on the case with either a transparent or black plastic base, while the Tank POD has "SUUNTO TANK POD, MADE IN FINLAND" printed in gray on the case with a transparent plastic base.

According to the record, consumers who own these recalled products should immediately stop using them and return them to a Suunto dealer or Suunto Authorized Service Center for free inspection and repair.
