VanMoof Recalls Bicycles Due to Fall and Impact Hazards

What happened

VanMoof is recalling B-Series and S-Series commuter-style bicycles manufactured between 2014 and 2016. The front fender bolts on these bicycles do not break when an object gets stuck between the front tire and front fender, which can cause the rider to fall or be impacted. The recalled B-Series bikes have white powder coated frames and the S-Series bikes have grey anodized frames. Serial numbers are stamped on the bottom bracket between the pedals. Both series come in three frame types: straight frame, straight frame with integrated chain lock, and dropdown frame.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles. According to the record, affected consumers should contact VanMoof to receive free replacement nylon bolts for the front fender and installation instructions. The repair can be completed by the consumer without assistance.

There are - for both Series 3 frame types - a straight frame, a straight frame with an integrated chain lock, and a dropdown frame. B-Series and S-Series serial numbers are stamped on the bottom bracket of the bicycle between the pedals on the bottom of the bicycle.
