What happened

Goodman is recalling 80% efficiency gas-fired furnaces sold under the Goodman, Amana, and Daikin brand names. These furnaces have an ungrounded blower motor that poses an electrical shock hazard to people servicing the units. The recalled models have model numbers beginning with AMEH80, DM80HE, or GME8, and serial numbers beginning with 1609, 1610, 1611, or 1612. The brand name appears on the outside of the furnace, and the serial number can be found on a label inside the furnace door.

If you own one of these furnaces, you should immediately contact Goodman for a free repair to address the electrical shock hazard.
