What happened

Teufelberger is recalling certain static ropes and throwlines sold under the CMC and New England Ropes brand names because they are mislabeled as meeting specific voluntary NFPA safety standards when they cannot be relied upon for that purpose. The affected products include CMC Escape Line 5/16"/8mm rope in orange with yellow tracer, New England Ropes Aramid 7.5mm rope in tan with black tracer, New England Ropes KM-III 5/16"/8mm rope in white with blue tracer, and New England Ropes NFPA throwline in yellow with red tracer. Only products with lot numbers beginning with 160101 through 1609915 are affected, with lengths ranging from 150 to 2,400 feet. The lot number and model name are printed on the end band label and packaging.

These mislabeled ropes and throwlines pose fall and injury hazards to rescue workers and others who use them. According to the recall, consumers should immediately stop using the affected products and contact Teufelberger for a free replacement.
