What happened

Venmar Ventilation is recalling air exchangers sold under multiple brand names (including Venmar, vanEE, Flair, Hush, and Guardian by Broan) that were manufactured between 1996 and 2001. The recalled units are metal air exchangers painted blue or grey used to circulate air in and out of homes. The motor in these units can overheat, creating a fire hazard.

Consumers who own an affected air exchanger should immediately turn off and stop using the unit. To obtain a remedy, consumers should contact Venmar Ventilation to request a free inspection and repair by a Venmar field technician.
