Viking Sewing Machines model #1+ with "VIKING Husqvarna" labeling are subject to a recall due to a hazard involving the power cord and transformer. When the power cord is removed from the sewing machine's power transformer, loose pins from the transformer can remain in the cord, creating a risk of electric shock. The recall affects machines with serial numbers in the following ranges: 10000001 to 19999991, 20000009 to 29999999, 33600003 to 33699993, and 50000002 to 59999992. The serial number is located on the bottom of the machine.
To address this safety issue, consumers should only unplug the machine from the wall outlet and never remove the power cord from the sewing machine's power transformer. Affected consumers should contact an authorized Viking dealer to arrange for a free safety inspection. If the power transformer is found to be defective, the dealer will replace it at no cost.

Consumers should check their sewing machine's serial number, located on the bottom of the machine.
