Underwater camera strobe light, model number YS-50
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Sea & Sea is recalling certain underwater camera strobes used for underwater photography. The recalled products include all YS-50 model strobes, and YS-60 and YS-120 model strobes with serial numbers beginning with 96 or 94. The strobes were sold in yellow, black, and orange colors and are marked with "Sea & Sea" and "Japan." If these strobes become flooded, gas can build up inside and cause the battery cap to forcefully eject or the front section to violently separate from the back section, potentially striking the user or others nearby.
According to the recall notice, consumers should immediately stop using the strobes. Any strobe suspected of being flooded—indicated by the unit stopping working or showing corrosion—should be returned to an authorized repair center. Sea & Sea is offering a free replacement battery cap with a vent designed to prevent gas buildup inside the strobe.
