Lithium-ion Computer Battery Packs

Panasonic is recalling six-cell lithium-ion battery packs used in Panasonic CF-S10 Series laptop computers. During manufacturing, conductive foreign material was accidentally mixed into the battery cells, which creates a fire hazard. The recall affects battery packs with model numbers CF-VZSU61U or CF-VZSU61R that have specific production lot numbers (BAW, BBX, BC, C1, C2 for the CF-VZSU61U model). You can identify your laptop by looking for "Panasonic" and "CF-S10" printed on the surface on the left side below the keyboard, and you can find the battery model and lot number on the nameplate attached to the battery pack itself.
If you have one of these recalled batteries, you should immediately stop using the laptop with that battery, power off the device, and remove the battery pack. Then contact Panasonic for a free replacement battery pack.

This recall involves Panasonic six-cell lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery packs sold in Panasonic CF-S10 Series laptop computers. "Panasonic" and "CF-S10" are on the surface of the laptop on the left side below the keyboard. Battery packs with the following model numbers and production lot numbers are being recalled: Model Numbers Lot Numbers CF-VZSU61U BAW, BBX, BC, C1, C2 CF-VZSU61R The model number and lot number are located on the battery pack nameplate.
